Wall Panels

Structural Wall panels are an energy efficient alternative to steel and masonry, providing a durable wall and eliminating the need for perimeter columns. Our insulated walls panels are manufactured with locally extracted, recycled materials whenever possible, making them the premier choice for any commercial project. The end result is a quicker installation process, more energy efficiency, lower maintenance, and durability. Formliner, stained and smooth finishes are available with Structural Wall Panels. We also produce Architectural Wall Panels with higher end finishes.

Advantages of Structural Wall Panels:

  • Structural Wall Panel Systems are manufactured in a controlled environment allowing for low water/cement ratios. This results in a denser concrete material that prevents water penetration, ultimately resulting in a better quality product.
  • Quick installation in any weather condition allows for fast building enclosure and lower construction financing costs.
  • Load bearing wall panels eliminate perimeter columns, opening up your building for unlimited design possibilities.
  • Our Structural Wall Panels allow for easy building expansion or relocation, thus minimizing future construction costs.

Architectural panels

Architectural precast achieves high end finishes at a low cost and can be produced and installed very quickly. Architectural precast wall panels can be made with virtually any finish you can imagine. The product can be structural or can act as cladding on a precast or steel structure. Architectural precast wall panels can be insulated or solid depending on the specified use.

Advantages of Architectural Wall Panels:

Looking to save time? Using architectural precast wall panels saves you time and who doesn’t want more of that on your side?

  • Quick. While your job site is being excavated, your wall panels are being manufactured. As soon as your site is ready, our panels will be there and ready for installation.
  • Quick. The exterior of the building is finished as soon as the panels are installed. No finish work by other subcontractors is required.
  • Quick. Architectural Wall Panels can be erected much quicker than comparable building products, allowing for interior finishes to begin sooner. This reduces the overall construction schedule saving the owner both time and money.

Precast concrete panels have been widely used all over the world since the beginning of the twentieth century, and over the past decade the development of more complex architectural design have rapidly increased the use of precast concrete panels.

Most buildings are suitable for construction in precast concrete, whether precast panels are used as architectural cladding panels or as load bearing panels depends on the building type.

Precast panels are used in high-rise buildings, villas, commercial and office buildings as well as industrial buildings, where the emphasis of the structure is on prestige and aesthetic appeal, or where economy and durability are of importance.

Advantages

The main advantages of using Inventaa’s precast wall panels are:

  • The reduction of costs and construction periods. As panels are installed directly form our trailers there is no need of the often limited storage space on-site. On-site construction and off-site manufacturing can be over lapped, thereby reducing overall site periods.
  • Shorter building period, lesser reliance on site labour and no requirement for scaffolding contribute to cost saving.
  • Truly distinctive finishes can easily be provided and in a way which is not possible with any other material. Coarse aggregates add further dimensions to the range of possible architectural effects. With a huge variety aggregates, pigments and finishes, panels with distinctive appearances can be produced for each client’s specific requirement and satisfaction.
  • In addition to this, the surface of the panels can be made with factory cast-in finishes such as natural stone, bricks or tiles.
  • High quality products. Produced under stringent production control and by skilled factory-based craftsmen who produce consistently high quality.
  • They can be designed to act as shear walls thus eliminating the need to resize the columns and beams for lateral forces.
  • 150mm thick Precast panels provide more floor space compared to load bearing block walls and columns and beam frames that normally cannot be done lesser than 200mm.
  • Electrical conduits and boxes are cast into the panels.
  • Low maintenance cost. The different textures of concrete surface will retain their textures and colour indefinitely although, dust and dirt from the atmosphere can attach to the surface, but with a simple wash-down with water, the panel’s surface will regain its original colour. This makes the maintenance cost very low compared to other surfaces and materials.
  • The high quality concrete ensures a longer durability of the building compared to in-situ structures. High durability is important for external surfaces. No cracks or similar surface defects will provide very low maintenance and long lasting exclusive appearance.

To ensure the most successful solution of each individual project the company’s early involvement in the design phase will ensure considerable time and cost savings for the project.

Inventaa offers a wide variety of precast panels, which we are divided into the following  categories:

1.Cladding panels     2.Solid panels

Precast panels are used in high-rise buildings, villas, commercial and office buildings as well as industrial buildings, where emphasis is on prestige and aesthetic appeal, or where economy and durability are of importance. To ensure the most optimal solution of each individual project the company’s early involvement in the design phase will ensure considerable time and cost saving for the project.

CLADDING PANELS

Cladding panels are defined as non-load bearing architectural panels, which only fulfil an enclosing and decorative function in the façade.  The combination of finish and shape contributes to the architectural expression and finished appearance of the structure.

The panels are normally single skin units, but can be made as a sandwich panel if required.

These panels are designed as individual panels, which only supports itself and does not contribute to the overall building structure at all.  Only load on panels are self-weight and wind-load for which 45 m/s wind-speed is allowed for, as per Quality Codes.

Design-wise the following 3 parts shall be done when designing a structure with Precast cladding:

1. Design of the Precast cladding part.

2. The support of the Precast panels, which provides vertical and horizontal support for the panels.

3. The connection that joins the Precast units to its support.

Precast cladding can be fixed to steel frame structures as well as concrete frame structures. In general, the panel should be supported vertically on a corbel in only one location and mechanical fixing will take the horizontal load, allowing the panel to expand / contract due to thermal movement.

For fixing to steel building frames, the overall static system can be the same as for concrete structures.  However, the details are different, since fixing arrangements are normally pre-welded to the steel structure.Another static system is that the cladding panels are self supported directly on the foundation and only horizontally fixed to the main structure.

Advantages:

  • Where future expansion of the main building is in mind during the design stage, then without disrupting the flow of the rest of the facility, the Precast panels allow for space to be added easily using the same design.
  • Eliminates the risk of hand-setting stone or brickwork in potentially hazardous locations.
  • Custom-made steel moulds are used to create panels in the exact size and shapes specified by the designer, as well as to introduce reveals, joints, patterns and other architectural detailing to the panel surface.
  • Specific colour effects can be achieved by varying aggregates, cements, pigments and different surface treatments.

SOLID PANELS
Solid panels can be used as interior and exterior panels.  For exterior panels the advantages mentioned under cladding panels can be achieved, however for load bearing panels basic structural requirements are to be fulfilled for transferring horizontal and vertical forces.

Where solid panels are used as building systems, the height and length of the panels will be as required for room height and length, so that the grouted connection between the panels appear only at room junctions. In plan the panels are connected by shear key arrangement.

Vertically the panels are connected by a dowel-bar, projecting from the lower panel onto which the slot provided in the upper panel will fix into.  Horizontal connections between panels are normally grouted shear keys.Proper tying system as required for the transfer of lateral forces by diaphragm action of Hollowcore slabs has to be taken care of in the connection.

Advantages:

  • They can be designed to act as shear walls thus eliminating the need to resize the columns and beams for lateral forces.
  • 150mm thick Precast panels provide more floor space compared to load bearing block walls and columns and beam frames that normally cannot be done lesser than 200mm.
  • Erection is very fast and time saving.
  • Electrical conduits and boxes are cast into the panels
  • Precast panels are manufactured with smooth internal surfaces ready for painting.

High durability, which is important on external surfaces.  No cracks or similar surface defects will provide very low maintenance and long lasting exclusive appearance.

Inventaa panels can be made with a variety of colours and surfaces as shown below.  In general surfaces are either fair-faced or with exposed aggregate, however the Group can also offer polished or acid washed surfaces.  Furthermore, it is also possible to have different surfaces on the same panel, separated by grooves.

Gray fair-faced surfaces are normally chosen when the panel is to be painted afterwards.  However, when using a coloured concrete it will eliminate the need for paint, thereby reducing the finishing time and further minimizing the maintenance cost to almost nil.

Polished surfaces give a smooth surface exposing all the aggregates.  Using a grinder/polishing machine the surface is polished until the middle of the surface-stone is reached.  Inventaa generally recommends this method for smaller areas or as part of the panels. Exposed surface can be achieved by either sandblasting the front side of the panels after casting, or by using a retarder on the mould surface before casting.  Using a retarder the panel is cleaned with high-pressure water immediately after demoulding.  This method will remove the cement paste to a depth of approximately half a stone size, leaving the stones intact.  When sandblasting the surface, all edges on the aggregates will be slightly rounded and all sharp corners of the stone aggregate will be removed.

Acid washed surfaces are prepared by washing the panel surface in a solution of water and acid.  This leaves the surface slightly rough (like sandpaper) depending on the solution and number of washes.  This type of surface treatment is also recommended to be limited to part of a panel, as the degree of roughness achieved can vary slightly from panel to panel.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

Noise resistance
Choosing the right materials and connection details as well as the quality of the work on site, are essential factors in getting satisfying noise reduction and thereby good living conditions inside a building.

Due to the very high quality of materials used and the product’s high density, Inventaa’s precast concrete panels have excellent noise reduction qualities, which can be designed to achieve all the requirements of the building.

Fire resistance
Panels produced by Inventaa meet the highest requirements for non-flammability and fire resistance, and can be designed for up to 4 hours fire resistance.

Thermal resistance
As previously described sandwich panels can achieve U-values as low as 0.25 W/m2K.  In aiming to reduce power consumption in residential, commercial and industrial buildings, local municipality issue maximum allowable Thermal Transmission U-value. Inventaa can design the panels to meet these requirements.
